Despite Kirk Cousins tearing his Achilles, the Minnesota Vikings have been able to stay afloat and keep pace in the NFC playoff race.
The Vikings have managed to win five games in a row and have an excellent opportunity to make that six games when they take on the Denver Broncos in Week 11.
Minnesota has been playing much more inspired football on both ends of the field and the addition of Joshua Dobbs at quarterback may end up saving their season.
Dobbs was able to lead the Vikings to an incredible comeback win against the Atlanta Falcons and looked dominant in their recent win against the New Orleans Saints.
While Dobbs deserves a lot of credit for picking up the system so quickly, the rest of the team also deserves praise.
Dan Orlovsky made sure to show the defense some love for their recent stretch via ESPN.
“As much as Josh Dobbs has gotten this recognition and praise, rightfully so, Brian Flores’ defense has been spectacular,” Orlovsky said.

Minnesota’s defense has been one of the steadier units in the league as they’re able to generate pressure on quarterbacks while the secondary has done fairly well in coverage.
The Vikings look like a team playing with a ton of confidence and that bodes well for them as they get toward the end of the regular season.
It’s anyone’s guess how far Minnesota can actually go without Cousins under center, but if the defense is able to keep them in games then they could be a dangerous team come the postseason.
