The New York Giants haven’t had much good news — if any — this season.
At least, they know now when their franchise quarterback is going to have surgery.
According to Art Stapleton, Daniel Jones told Kay Adams that he’s expected to undergo surgery to repair the torn ACL in his right knee on Wednesday.

Before his season-ending injury in Week 9, Jones had already missed the previous three games with a neck injury.
He was only able to make six appearances in the 2023 season, completing 68% of his passes for a career-worst 5.7 yards per pass.
Jones also finished the season with just two touchdown passes to go along with six interceptions and one fumble lost.
Undrafted rookie Tommy DeVito will continue to lead the way for Brian Daboll’s team in the meantime, as backup QB Tyrod Taylor will also be out for the remainder of the season with an injury of his own.
Jones was coming off the best season of his career and on the heels of signing a highly-criticized deal that would pocket him $80 million fully guaranteed.
He’s not going to be able to be on the field by the start of next season, and some believe he’s not going to play another snap for the Giants organization.
The Giants will likely have a top-three pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, and with no shortage of potential candidates, they could target Jones’ replacement with that, and it would be very difficult to make a case for sticking with their current QB.
