The Washington Commanders can’t seem to figure the New York Giants out.
Even down their main two quarterbacks, the Giants managed to get past the Commanders for the second time this season.
A lot of that had to do with their defensive approach and how they took everything away from Sam Howell.
Needless to say, that included star wideouts Jahan Dotson and Terry McLaurin, both of whom have had a down year by their standards and expectations.
When asked about the lack of targets, Howell stated that as much as he wants to get everybody involved, he needs to take what the defense gives him (via JP Finlay).
Howell on lack of targets for McLaurin, Dotson – We have to get everyone more involved but we also have to take what the defense gives us

The jury is still out on Howell as a quarterback.
The physical traits aren’t that impressive, but he has some intangibles that make some people think that he could still be a star in this league.
As polarizing as the Commanders as a whole, chances are that he’s going to get another full season under his belt to prove his worth before the team rushes to make any decisions.
Then again, we cannot ignore the fact that this team was recently acquired, and the new owners will leave no stone unturned, looking to improve the roster significantly in the offseason.
Howell has had a long leash with Ron Rivera.
Likewise, Rivera could also be on his way out if this team doesn’t make the playoffs or shows any signs of improvement until the end of the season, so he better make sure to get the best out of his QB while he still can.
