The Houston Texans franchise lucked out in a major way when C.J. Stroud fell into their laps in the 2023 NFL Draft.
With the No. 2 overall pick, the Texans selected Stroud and the rookie signal caller has been everything the franchise has hoped for and more.
Stroud has been a revelation in his first year as a professional as he’s got Houston right in the thick of the playoff race in the AFC.
The rookie was able to lead the Texans to their sixth victory of the 2023 NFL season as they beat the Arizona Cardinals, 21-16.
It was a rough game for Stroud in regards to turnovers as he tossed three interceptions, though he did manage to record 336 passing yards and two touchdowns.
Stroud is excellent from a mental standpoint and he discussed his mentality on the field, via Inside the NFL on Twitter.
“I kind of gave Tank a finger to just go.”

Stroud starts the video off by detailing his progressions on a touchdown pass to fellow rookie Tank Dell, but he later discusses his approach to the game.
Stroud said he always does his best to make plays and feels the need to prove to everyone what he can do on the field despite the early success he’s had.
Thankfully for Houston, Stroud’s proven he’s up to the task and looks like he’s got a bright future in the league.
Even if the Texans are unable to make the postseason, they look like they’re way ahead of schedule and with Stroud just scratching the surface of his potential they could be a real threat in the coming years.
