The Washington Commanders are, once again, one of the most disappointing teams in the league.
Ron Rivera has been given plenty of opportunities to turn the ship around, and it doesn’t seem like that’s going to happen this season.
That’s why, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Commanders plan to evaluate his job in the offseason.
The report states that there could still be an unexpected turn of events, but that would most likely mean the Commanders win out the season.

Thus far, they’re just 4-7 and have dropped two games to the New York Giants, including one to undrafted rookie QB Tommy DeVito.
The Giants had lost their past two games by a combined score of 79-23 before that win, and while divisional contests are always tricky, that was simply unacceptable.
Some believe that the Commanders had hired Eric Bieniemy as their assistant head coach so he could take over for Ron Rivera if he was fired.
Bieniemy hasn’t exactly thrived since leaving the Kansas City Chiefs, but he could perhaps turn the team around if given enough time.
The Commanders are going through a change of ownership, and they’ll look to put together a Super Bowl-contending team almost right away, meaning they won’t have a lot of patience with their coach.
Rivera never established his defensive expertise with the team, and after three disappointing seasons, it would be quite difficult to keep giving him the benefit of the doubt.
He was one of the best coaches of his generation, but maybe it’s time they go in a different direction.
