The San Francisco 49ers look scary right now.
And while Christian McCaffrey has stolen most of the headlines — for rightful reasons — he’s not the only reason this team has been so explosive on offense.
As a matter of fact, they struggled to be at their best when Deebo Samuel wasn’t on the field, and some might argue that he’s actually their most important offensive player.
At least that’s how Dallas Cowboys legend Michael Irvin feels.

In the latest edition of “Undisputed,” Irvin called Samuel the “blood, heart, and soul” of the team.
He stated that when they run their offense through him, it just opens up so much space for everybody else, because he’s just so physical, strong, and dominant that the rest of the team just gets infected with his energy and physicality.
Having a player like Samuel allows the Niners offense to run so many things, and having him with McCaffrey only takes things to a whole new level.
Of course, he’s no longer getting 15+ carries a game as he did in the past, but he’s proven to be their most explosive player out of the backfield when given the rock.
Also, having him run routes and draw targets opens up so much space for both George Kittle and Brandon Aiyuk, which is why Irvin might have a valid point here.
They’re still undefeated when he starts and finishes a game this season, and that’s not a coincidence; he’s always a massive factor for this team.
