In an uncharacteristic NFL game on Black Friday following three games played on Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, the Miami Dolphins and the division-rival New York Jets went head-to-head in a matchup at MetLife Stadium.
The end result of this AFC East clash was pretty predictable, as the Dolphins were able to come out on top against the Jets in convincing fashion, 34-13, which improved Miami’s record to 8-3 on the season.
Along with the Dolphins getting another check in the win column and taking another step closer to winning the AFC East division title, superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill put himself in select company once again with another solid performance.
According to NFL Senior Researcher Tony Holzman-Escareno, Hill joins Rams legend Torry Holt as the only players to have 1,300+ receiving yards and 10+ receiving touchdowns before December.
Players with 1,300+ receiving yards and 10+ receiving TD in a season before December:
• Tyreek Hill (2023 in 11 games)
• Torry Holt (2003 in 12 games)#FinsUp @NFLResearch @AllHands81 @cheetah— Tony Holzman-Escareno (@FrontOfficeNFL) November 24, 2023
Those are some impressive stats, to say the least, and Hill will almost certainly continue to improve them moving forward, with the Dolphins offense being among the elite class in the league during this 2023 NFL season.
However, even though this is an impressive milestone for Hill, the speedy wideout is shooting much higher than this as he hopes to end up with 2,000 receiving yards or more this season.
At this rate, Hill may very well get there as long as he can stay healthy while continuing to be star quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s favorite target in the passing game.
Along with Hill shooting for the stars, the Dolphins seem to have a legitimate chance of competing for a Super Bowl title, which would be the team’s first since the 1970s when the franchise won two titles.
