Week 11 was a scary one for the Detroit Lions as they were nearly upset by the Chicago Bears who had been struggling up to that point.
The Lions were barely able to squeeze by with a 31-26 victory and it was largely thanks to their defense late in the fourth quarter.
All season long, Detroit has shown they should be taken seriously as a Super Bowl contender given how strong they are on both sides of the field and that’s a testament to head coach Dan Campbell and his staff for instilling a toughness and physical attitude into the roster.
When watching the Lions, fans can tell that no player is above doing the dirty work and perhaps no one on the team exemplifies that more than star receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown.
St. Brown is one of the best wideouts in the NFL, but he’s not afraid to throw blocks downfield to spring his teammates.
However, against the Bears St. Brown was fined for a block he made on a defender and fans reacted to the news via Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

@NFL just keeps stealing money from players. At some point, @NFLPA needs to do their job

NFL becoming flag football.

When watching the play, it looks like St. Brown simply throws a routine block on a defender trying to crash the play.
It’s a typical football move that happens dozens of times throughout a game and nothing about the block looks egregious from the tape.
The NFL has made it a point to crack down on infractions, but this one seems over the top and should be reviewed as it doesn’t seem like anything out of the ordinary.
