After a win over the division-rival Cincinnati Bengals in Week 12, the Pittsburgh Steelers are sitting at 7-4 on the season and are in second place in the AFC North division behind the Baltimore Ravens.
Even though the Steelers are still very much in contention for a playoff spot in the AFC this season, the 2023 campaign has not been pretty for the storied franchise, with the team struggling on offense all season long, which led to the firing of offensive coordinator Matt Canada ahead of the clash with the Bengals.
With Canada gone, the pressure is now on second-year quarterback Kenny Pickett to pick up the slack offensively and prove that this team can be a threat on that side of the football for the rest of the 2023 NFL season.
Unfortunately, even though they came out with a win against the Bengals, the offense struggled once again, with the team scoring one touchdown and settling for three field goals in order to get the best of Cincinnati.
Despite not putting on the kind of offensive performance they wanted on Sunday, Pickett still had a leader’s mentality after the game via Kimberley A. Martin of ESPN.
Kenny Pickett waited for almost all his teammates outside of the locker room to dap them up … Was told the #Steelers building “just felt different” this week after Canada was fired. But now it’s on Kenny + the offense to put up points pic.twitter.com/oWxANEwLPL

Fortunately for Pittsburgh, the Steelers have a relatively easy schedule to finish the regular season, with the team’s toughest challenges coming on the road against the Seattle Seahawks and Baltimore Ravens in the final two weeks.
Next week, the Steelers will have a chance to make an impression offensively as they will take on the lowly Arizona Cardinals.
