The Denver Broncos had one of the most promising receiving corps in the league entering last season.
Everybody around the league expected Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy to take a major leap forward with Russell Wilson as their QB.
However, that wasn’t the case at all, as Wilson and the Broncos struggled mightily to move the chains.
Things were so ugly that both Sutton and Jeudy were tangled up in multiple trade rumors throughout the course of the offseason, but they managed to survive.
Fast forward to today, and it seems like Sutton is finally establishing himself on the team and has become one of Sean Payton’s favorite players.
Following the win over the Denver Broncos, Payton praised Sutton’s work ethic, strength, and leadership (via Zac Stevens).
After the Broncos’ win yesterday, Sean Payton was complimentary of Courtland Sutton:
“He’s a leader, he’s strong, he practices his tail off and I’m happy for him.”

It wasn’t a particularly big day for Sutton.
He had three receptions on six targets for 61 yards and no touchdowns.
Sutton led the team in receiving yards and was quite close to extending his receiving TD streak to six games but was pushed out of bounds just three yards shy of the end zone.
He’s been the best wide receiver on the team by a significant margin, logging 48 receptions for 560 yards and eight touchdowns on 68 targets through the first 11 games of the season.
The Broncos are currently the hottest team in the league after a slow and worrisome start.
And if Sutton continues to play this way, it wouldn’t be shocking to see them making the playoffs out of the AFC West Division.
