Just last season, Philadelphia Eagles star Jalen Hurts was the leading MVP candidate before suffering a late-season injury that derailed his case.
The Eagles still went on to make it to the Super Bowl, and while they were just three points away from the win, Hurts had a spectacular outing against the eventual champions.
Fast forward to today, and the Eagles have the best record in the league by a somewhat wide margin.
That puts Hurts at the forefront of the MVP race again, but he couldn’t care less about that right now.
According to Dov Kleiman, Hurts isn’t worried or focused on winning that award at all.
#Eagles QB Jalen Hurts tells media that he isn’t concerned with winning the MVP award.
“That’s not for me to concern or roll with.”
“I just try to go out there and play to the standard and be the best I can be for my team.”

All he cares about right now is the Super Bowl and getting the job done this time, as he already knows what it’s like to make it all the way there and go back home empty-handed.
Hurts has been a vocal and strong leader since he took the starting QB job in Philadelphia.
He leads by example and holds everybody — himself included — accountable when they don’t perform to their standards, which is one of the many reasons why GM Howie Roseman decided to commit to him long-term with that massive contract extension.
Hurts knows that things like individual awards will take care of themselves as long as they get the job done on the field.
The Eagles have the most stacked roster in the league and should make another deep postseason run this season, and if Hurts manages to win the MVP, so be it, but he won’t lose any sleep over it.
