Through 12 weeks, the Carolina Panthers are 1-10 and are already looking forward to the 2024 NFL season.
There was plenty of optimism heading into the 2023 NFL campaign because the Panthers believed they had the future face of their franchise in Bryce Young.
However, Young has looked nothing like the superstar rookie they were hoping they’d get as he’s struggled to find much rhythm offensively.
After another rough loss in Week 12 to the Tennessee Titans, the Panthers decided to let go of Frank Reich who was in his first year as the team’s head coach.
The head coach is always the first person fans will blame, but the organization deserves its fair share of heat too for the poor roster they put around Young.
Ryan Clark laid into owner David Tepper and the franchise and said what everyone is thinking when it comes to Young via Inside the NFL.
“They have to get someone in there to help Bryce Young,” Clark said.

Clark first condemns Carolina’s insistence on firing head coaches so quickly into their tenures, using the Pittsburgh Steelers as an example of a team that’s been able to find stability along the sidelines.
The former player then gets into how the Panthers have a bad offensive line that can’t pass or run block and a receiving corps that lacks a true alpha receiver.
Those things together, plus Reich’s system all contributed to Young’s terrible rookie year so Tepper and company will have their work cut out for them if they hope to become a respectable team again.
