Grady Brown’s Transition to the New Orleans Saints
Former Pittsburgh Steelers coach, Grady Brown, is set to embark on a new chapter in his NFL coaching career with the New Orleans Saints. This move, as reported by 247 Sports’ Matt Zenitz, marks a significant shift for Brown as he joins a revamped coaching staff in the Big Easy.
Joining Forces with Head Coach Kellen Moore
In New Orleans, Brown will be working alongside head coach Kellen Moore, a prominent figure who recently played a pivotal role as the offensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX. The defensive coordinator position in the Saints’ camp will be filled by Brandon Staley, who previously led the Los Angeles Chargers from 2021 to 2023.
Brown’s Impactful Tenure with the Steelers
Brown’s tenure with the Pittsburgh Steelers, which began in 2021 and extended through the 2024 season, showcased his coaching prowess. Under his guidance, the Steelers defense excelled, tying for the third-most interceptions in the league with 66 and allowing the seventh-fewest points at 1,415.
Stepping into New Shoes
Following Brown’s departure, the Steelers swiftly appointed Gerald Alexander to take on the role left vacant by Brown. Despite interviewing for the Atlanta Falcons’ defensive coordinator position earlier in the year, Brown found his new home with the Saints, eager to contribute to their resurgence.
A Fresh Start for the Saints
The New Orleans Saints are looking to bounce back from a challenging season that saw them finish with a 5-12 record, landing them at the bottom of the NFC South for the first time since 2008. With Brown’s expertise and strategic acumen, the Saints aim to turn the tide and reignite their competitive spirit in the upcoming NFL season.
