It’s free agency season in MLB, and those without a contract are looking for their next home.
MLB teams are vying for the top free agents available on the market, and the names are aplenty: Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Blake Snell, Eduardo Rodriguez, Cody Bellinger, and several more.
The Atlanta Braves were the best team of the regular season this year with a 104-58 record.
Needless to say, they have a strong core in place to contend in the foreseeable future, and ace Max Fried is using that as a pitch to try and recruit free agents.
It’s not a bad strategy.
“‘If you want to win, it’s a good place to be.’ @MaxFried32 gives his recruiting pitch to MLB Free Agents,” Foul Territory tweeted.

All Fried does, since he made his MLB debut in 2017, is win.
Through 2023, the southpaw had the best career win–loss percentage of all Braves pitchers at .705.
He has been part of the Braves roster that has won six straight NL East titles.
He was there when the team won it all in 2021, and at 29 years old, he is still in his prime.
In 2023, he posted a rock-solid 2.55 ERA in 77.2 innings, limited by an arm injury for much of the season.
His career 3.03 ERA certifies him as a bona fide ace, and one of the most underrated in the league.
Fried himself is getting closer to free agency, but given that the rotation is the Braves’ weakest link (without being actually bad), they will likely do whatever it takes to keep him around.
As they should.
