The New York Jets just got a massive boost.
Unfortunately, it happened just a little too late.
According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the team just opened Aaron Rodgers’ practice window.
The superstar QB suffered a torn Achilles just four plays into the season, yet he always remained optimistic about being the first player to make an in-season return from such an injury.
Needless to say, the fans had plenty to say about this shocking turn of events.

Rodgers and his medical staff had repeatedly stated that an in-season return was a real possibility, but some were quite skeptical about that.
Also, with the Jets’ playoff hopes all but gone, the fans and some analysts thought there was no point in risking further injury by having him on the field again this season.
Nonetheless, Rodgers still wants to make history, and getting some reps with his new teammates and his new coaching staff won’t hurt.
The Jets were expected to be a Super Bowl contender this season, but losing Rodgers and their failure to address that absence doomed their season.
Zach Wilson lost his starting job — again — after failing to hold down the fort in his absence, wasting another season of their dominant defense.
Now, their superstar quarterback is targeting a December return, giving him a few chances to shake off the rust before the end of his first season with the Jets, which obviously didn’t go the way anybody intended.
