The Washington Commanders undoubtedly have one of the worst stadiums in the NFL.
But, after being poorly run by Dan Snyder for so many years, he never made a stadium upgrade.
FedEx Field was opened in 1997 and it has worn out its welcome.
But new Commanders owner Josh Harris is aware of the issues and he plans on getting a new stadium as soon as possible.
According to Nicki Jhabvala, Harris said, “We’re going to improve the existing stadium as much as we can while we look for a new home.”
Josh Harris on FedEx Field: “We’re going to improve the existing stadium as much as we can while we look for a new home. … It’s not the bones, necessarily. … The way modern stadiums are set up, they’re very different than stadiums that are older.”

The current stadium is not fan-friendly, and the locker rooms are far from ideal for the players.
Recently, there was an issue with the water heater in the locker rooms.
Players were unable to take warm showers after the game.
It goes without saying, but that is unacceptable for a professional organization.
Unfortunately, the lease at FedEx Field does not expire until 2027.
So that may be the earliest the Commanders can get a new stadium.
Harris is an experienced owner and knows how to build successful organizations.
He also owns the Philadelphia 76ers and New Jersey Devils.
So, Harris seems like the right man for the job to turn around the Commanders.
After this season it makes sense that Harris would start to rebuild the franchise.
More than likely he will bring in a new coaching staff and start fresh.
While the Commanders have been a poorly run team for a while, it seems like they are headed in the right direction under Harris.
