The Kansas City Chiefs seem to be cruising toward yet another Super Bowl appearance this winter, which would be their fourth such appearance in the last five seasons.
They currently have an 8-3 record, and while they don’t have the offensive depth they used to, they have been finding ways to win, as they usually have seemed to during the Patrick Mahomes era.
They will visit the rebuilding Green Bay Packers on Sunday, and Jerick McKinnon, one of their rotational running backs, returned to practice on Thursday after sitting out Wednesday’s session, per Matt McMullen.

McKinnon has carried the football just 13 times and gained only 30 yards without scoring a touchdown this season.
Unlike some teams, the Chiefs don’t have a featured stud running back, and they have gotten it done by committee over the years.
Isiah Pacheco is first on their depth chart at that position, and he has 669 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns in 2023, while Clyde Edwards-Helaire has chipped in off the bench.
The major difference this year compared to past years for Kansas City is their lack of a major threat at wide receiver.
In the past, they enjoyed the immense talents of Tyreek Hill, and after he was traded prior to last season, JuJu Smith-Schuster had a productive 2022 campaign as they won the Super Bowl championship.
The Chiefs have a relatively easy schedule remaining, and with some notable star quarterbacks in the AFC out due to injury, the path back to the big game could be wide-open for them.
