The NFL immediately became a tailspin when Shaquille Leonard was released from the Indianapolis Colts.
Fans were asking, wondering why he was released by the Colts, and in the same breath, wanting their favorite team to pick him up.
He has already met with the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles and will likely decide by the weekend.
Ahead of this decision, Jerry Jones made a statement via reporter Jon Machota: “We had a great visit, and that’s pretty much the way we left it.”
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on free agent LB Shaq Leonard, who visited Dallas on Tuesday: “I don’t know. They said they’re going to get back with us this weekend, probably after Philadelphia plays (Sunday), is my guess. We had a great visit, and that’s pretty much the way we left…

Jones is typically known to keep his cards close to his vest.
While he might be confident in the Cowboys’ ability to sign Leonard, he also wants to temper fan expectations.
The Cowboys and Eagles seem to be contenders in the NFC, leaving Leonard with a tough decision.
If he enjoyed what he heard from both teams and the contract offerings were similar, the ball would be in his court.
He will need to decide which team he can considerably impact and which team has a greater chance of winning the Super Bowl.
Of course, there is still the question of his health and how he will perform throughout the rest of the year, regardless of the team he chooses.
Jones said, “It’s not an issue for us to not sign him.”
The Cowboys are ready to pull the trigger, excited to add a player of Leonard’s caliber to their already strong defense.
Jones and the Cowboys fanbase will likely not have to wait long to find out what he will do.
