With only a few games left in the 2023 NFL regular season, some title-contending teams around the league are showing interest in veteran tight end Zach Ertz, who can provide a considerable boost to a team looking to get better offensively.
The Baltimore Ravens are one of the title-contending teams in the NFL that have shown interest in Ertz, which makes a lot of sense with star tight end Mark Andrews out for the season.
Even though the Ravens haven’t really missed a beat offensively since Andrews went down for the year, the prospect of bringing in a veteran like Ertz for the NFL playoffs seems like a smart move for Baltimore.
However, head coach John Harbaugh recently talked about the potential addition of Ertz and didn’t seem to be all that optimistic about signing the veteran tight end because he already likes where the team is at, even without Andrews, who he’s not ruling out returning down the line, via Sarah Ellison of Ravens Vault.
John Harbaugh on free agent Pro Bowl TE Zack Ertz: “Any time a great guy is out there, you sure look at it. But I’ll say this right now: We like our tight ends. We really like our guys. And like I said, I’m not ruling out Mark Andrews for down the road in the future at all.”

At this point in his NFL career, Ertz isn’t the same dominant player he was when he was with the Philadelphia Eagles, as his numbers have dropped off considerably since landing with the Arizona Cardinals.
In the seven games he played for the Cardinals this season, Ertz caught 27 passes for 187 yards and a touchdown.
Even though he may not be the same player he was with the Eagles, he can still be a valuable piece to the championship puzzle for a team looking to contend this season.
