The NFL season has just seen its first Sunday of December.
Most people recognize December football as the time of the year when you want to be playing your best.
Each team is fighting for playoff position, and many players are jostling for end-of-season awards.
The one award that every player wants to win is league MVP.
Only the best of the best have won MVP awards, and it is a major accomplishment in any player’s career.
This season, the MVP is still fully up for grabs after 13 weeks.
Yet on Sunday, we saw an odds shift for a few players.
The San Francisco 49ers- Philadelphia Eagles game had major MVP implications.
According to Bleacher Report, 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy has become the new favorite to win MVP.

After Purdy and the 49ers dominated the Eagles, the second-year quarterback surpassed Jalen Hurts as the favorite.
It is interesting to see Purdy’s odds skyrocket after that game.
Mostly because he did not have to do much for the 49ers to win.
He made timely throws and got the balls to his playmakers who did the rest.
Purdy did not complete one pass over 20 yards in the air.
But, his teammates showed an elite ability for yards after the catch in this game.
Purdy leads the NFL in yards-after-catch per completion with 6.6.
While he certainly should be on the shortlist of MVP contenders, it seems crazy for him to be the favorite if the voters are truly voting on “most valuable.”
