The Cincinnati Bengals aren’t out of the race yet.
Just like former NFL backup QB Chase Daniel said, Jake Browning is no scrub, and he proved it in his second career start.
Browning was in full control of the offense, leading his team to a huge 34-31 overtime road win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
On top of that, he joined an elite list of passers.
According to NFL on CBS on Twitter, Browning joined the likes of Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Justin Herbert, and Lamar Jackon as the only quarterback with 350+ passing yards and a completion percentage of at least 85% in a single game over the past 20 years.

Browning completed 32 of 37 passes for 354 yards on an 86.5% completion percentage, adding one touchdown in the win.
Joe Mixon did most of the heavy lifting on the ground, and Zac Taylor’s team deserves a lot of credit for the offensive balance they found to pull off the huge win.
Browning looked poised and calm in the pocket, and he did a solid job of hitting his receivers in stride.
He might not be a starting-caliber NFL quarterback and he’s definitely no Joe Burrow, but with the kind of supporting cast he has around him, he looks more than capable of keeping the chains in motion and putting up points on the scoreboard.
The Bengals are now 6-6 and will have another crucial matchup with huge postseason implications on Sunday when they face the Indianapolis Colts in a duel of above average backup quarterbacks.
