A lot has been made in the MLB world about the Toronto Blue Jays meeting with Shohei Ohtani this week, on Monday.
However, the Jays are not the first team that Ohtani visited ahead of his long-awaited decision.
According to manager Dave Roberts, he had a visit with the Los Angeles Dodgers “a couple of days ago”.
“Dave Roberts said he and the Dodgers met with Shohei Ohtani at Dodger Stadium a couple days ago. ‘I think it went well,’ he said,” Dodgers insider Fabian Ardaya tweeted.

The Dodgers have long been seen as the favorites to land Ohtani.
He would make an already elite lineup even better, and could bolster their rotation starting in 2025, when he is ready to pitch again.
LA, however, is facing competition.
Ohtani is said to be impressed by the Jays as an organization, and the San Francisco Giants are eager to sign him, too.
Of course, we can’t discount the possibility of the player returning to a place he is familiar with, the Los Angeles Angels.
By now, those four teams appear to be the only finalists.
The Texas Rangers, New York Mets, and New York Yankees, as well as the Boston Red Sox, appear to be focused on other targets.
The Seattle Mariners and San Diego Padres would love to have him, but can’t afford him.
A potential dark horse in the race could be the Atlanta Braves, though.
All of those teams would have to beat the Dodgers’ offer, resources, geographical advantage, and overall project, though.
