With only a handful of games left in the 2023 NFL regular season, the race for the NFL MVP award is starting to heat up, with teammates starting to make cases for players on their respective teams to be in the running for the regular-season award.
One team that arguably has multiple candidates for NFL MVP right now, especially after Week 13’s impressive performance against the Philadelphia Eagles, is the San Francisco 49ers.
Even though the NFL MVP award is more often than not won by a quarterback, sometimes players at other positions on offense make a case for the award, like running back Christian McCaffrey has in the Bay Area.
Although McCaffrey has gotten some buzz for the regular-season award, quarterback Brock Purdy has a better chance to add the award to his trophy case, especially with fellow star Deebo Samuel showing his support for his star quarterback on “Up & Adams,” via 95.7 The Game.

Purdy is having an incredible season for the 49ers, as he has shown that he’s the right man for the job under center for the storied franchise while being able to lead the team to a record of 9-3 and a first-place standing in the NFC West division.
In 12 games played so far this season, Purdy has thrown for 3,185 yards, 23 touchdowns, and only six interceptions.
It seems as though the more games Purdy plays, the more he improves, as he’s only gotten better and better over the course of his second season with the 49ers, which could result in him winning the NFL MVP award.
