Despite some buzz that Aaron Rodgers is targeting a return to play during the 2023 NFL season, the New York Jets remain a mess that fans are already sick of watching.
The Jets have looked completely inept offensively the past month and that was apparent in their Week 13 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
It was a defensive game between the two squads, but it was Atlanta that came out on top with a 13-8 victory over a hapless New York squad.
After another dispiriting defeat, the Jets decided to release backup quarterback Tim Boyle who replaced Zach Wilson as the starter for two games.
Wilson has come under fire for his poor performances this year, but is slated to start in Week 14 following Boyle’s release.
Head coach Robert Saleh has defended Wilson as much as possible and offered more support for him via Rich Cimini of ESPN.

There were a couple of games in the middle of the season when Wilson looked like a competent quarterback, but he regressed quickly after and lost the trust of Saleh and the coaching staff.
However, after seeing just how bad Boyle was under center Saleh has apparently decided that trotting out Wilson is somehow the better option.
At this point, it’s clear that Wilson will never live up to his draft status though the team is stuck with him until Rodgers is able to return.
New York should have done a better job of preparing for the possibility that Rodgers would miss time, so now they’re paying the price for it.
