The Miami Dolphins have the best offense in the league, but the San Francisco 49ers aren’t that far behind.
With that in mind, the guys at The Carton Show debated who should be a better pick for MVP: Brock Purdy or Tua Tagovailoa.
Craig Carton and Willie Colon believe that Purdy should get the nod because he’s only thrown for one fewer touchdown and a couple of hundred yards less, but he has six fewer turnovers and a better passer rating.
Better MVP candidate: Tua or Brock?

Despite everything that has been said of Mike McDaniel’s offense, and rightfully so, the Niners’ passing numbers aren’t all that different.
However, former Super Bowl champion Plaxico Burress stated that he would give the nod to Tua because he hasn’t watched the 49ers put up 70 points on anyone, adding that what he’s doing is special, and even predicting that Tyreek Hill would become the first player to eclipse 2,000 receiving yards in a single season and that he would do it in only 16 weeks.
Truth be told, perhaps the reality is that neither Purdy nor Tua should be the MVP this season.
Maybe not even Jalen Hurts, Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes, or any other superstar quarterback, for that matter.
Tyreek Hill, Christian McCaffrey, and Myles Garrett deserve as much — if not even more — consideration in this debate, and it’s about time we stop making it a QB-centric award.
Otherwise, why not make up an award exclusive for quarterbacks and give another one for the actual most valuable player in a season?
