Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts would probably be one of the first people to admit that he didn’t have the best performance out on the field last week in his team’s loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
But it’s also not like Hurts had an abysmal performance that is worthy of the Eagles benching him.
However, this is a silly narrative that was created earlier this week, as some believe Hurts’ performance could benefit from some time on the sidelines to help his body recover from some injuries that he is currently dealing with.
Well, most people don’t agree with this idea, and FOX Sports’ Ralph Vacchiano recently shared that he is among the group that doesn’t believe Hurts is currently a problem for Philadelphia (via NFL on FOX Podcast on Twitter).

Vacchiano points out that Hurts is still playing at a high level this year, as he’s currently on pace to set new career highs in multiple single-season passing categories.
He also mentioned that the expectations have certainly been higher for the Eagles quarterback this year, and the fact that his interceptions are up this season has caused some people to believe that his performance might have regressed when compared to how he played in 2022.
Philadelphia lost their second game of the entire 2023 campaign last week, so it’s a little insane to think that there are people who actually think the team might be better off letting Hurts rest for a little bit before this season’s playoffs.
Hurts is one of the main reasons why the Eagles have been so good this year, so benching him would accomplish nothing.
