After selecting him with the No. 2 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Houston Texans clearly thought former Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud could develop into their next franchise signal-caller one day.
However, Stroud has taken almost no time at all to prove to the Texans that they made the right selection in the 2023 draft.
The Houston rookie quarterback is currently in the middle of a magical first season in the NFL, in which he’s already thrown 20 touchdowns and more than 3,500 yards.
Given Stroud’s performance, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that the Texans quarterback currently has the second-most Pro Bowl votes in the entire league (via Pro Football Network on Twitter).

Stroud’s current 44,095 votes to compete in this season’s Pro Bowl Games are more than a number of established NFL superstars like Christian McCaffrey of the San Francisco 49ers, Tyreek Hill of the Miami Dolphins, and Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Only Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa currently has more Pro Bowl votes than Stroud heading into Week 14 of the season.
Given this information about the votes, it’s pretty clear that Stroud is going to be voted to the AFC’s Pro Bowl roster as a rookie.
If this happens, he will join Mac Jones, Dak Prescott, and Jameis Winston as the only quarterbacks to be voted to a Pro Bowl roster in their rookie seasons since 2013.
This week, Stroud will be looking to help the Texans remain in the hunt for a playoff spot when they head out on the road to take on an underwhelming New York Jets team.
