Losing your locker room is a really bad thing in the National Football League.
Once a player loses his teammates’ trust and respect, there’s simply no going back; he has to go.
That may have been the case with Mac Jones, as the rest of the team didn’t seem to respond to him.
With that in mind, Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated reported that it has become evident that the offense has played with much more energy with Bailey Zappe behind center.
I don’t think there’s any question that the offense is playing with more energy with Bailey Zappe in there. He’s at least brought that to the group. https://t.co/mBsBZ7u3rm

Ironically, Jones had drawn rave reviews from the locker room when he first entered the league, with his teammates praising his work ethic and determination to get better.
Things didn’t go as well in his second season.
He vowed to get his teammates’ respect back this season, and while he reportedly put in countless hours of hard work, that just didn’t happen.
Jones didn’t play well at all, but it’s not like he was put in a position to succeed, and he’s been the team’s fall guy.
Playing behind a mediocre offensive line with subpar talent can only help a guy so much.
And it became more than clear that he had lost all confidence in his game for quite a while.
Now, he’ll have to fight to get another chance in the league, but that’s just not going to happen in Foxboro.
