The San Francisco 49ers are one of the best teams with one of the best offenses in the NFL.
They have the best running back in the game in Christian McCaffrey, one of the best tight ends in George Kittle, and two incredible receivers in Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk.
But there’s always room to add more talent on offense and general manager John Lynch is certainly willing to look around if good players become available.
When the Arizona Cardinals released tight end Zach Ertz this past month, many expected him to sign with a contender.
And even though the 49ers don’t have an immediate need for a tight end, Lynch admitted San Francisco would look into acquiring the veteran.
“When you have the opportunity, [when] a guy like Ertz is out there, you always take a look,” Lynch said, according to David Bonilla of 49erswebzone.com via Pro Football Talk. “We haven’t done anything yet. We’ll see where that goes. We’ll continue to monitor him as we do many other people that are out there.”

The addition of Ertz to the already potent passing attack would only make the 49ers’ chances of making the Super Bowl even greater.
While Ertz’s production has dipped as he’s gotten older, the three-time Pro Bowler scored nine receiving touchdowns over the past two seasons for the Arizona Cardinals and Philadelphia Eagles.
He also wouldn’t necessarily be counted on to take on a large snap share considering the aforementioned presence of Kittle.
The 49ers give Ertz one of the best chances to return to the Super Bowl, too.
