Just a couple of days ago, the Los Angeles Dodgers were seen as the favorites to land Shohei Ohtani.
It might have been Dave Roberts revealing details of their meeting with Ohtani, or the Toronto Blue Jays’ steady, consistent recruiting strategy, but at this point, as of Friday afternoon, the two-time MVP appears to be headed to Canada.
There have been hundreds of rumors and a ton of speculation about what Ohtani is doing, whether he was on a flight to Toronto or not, and all of this with reports of his decision coming as early as Friday.
The rumors, in this particular case, are true: per MLB insider Jon Morosi, the Japanese star is on his way to Toronto, meaning that he is on a flight to that destination, not that a final decision has been made.
“Sources: Shohei Ohtani is en route to Toronto today. A representative of his agency, CAA, would not comment when asked about Ohtani’s travel plans. At this hour, Ohtani does not have a signed agreement with any @MLB team,” Morosi tweeted.

There is no signed agreement with any MLB team, but if you can read between the lines, the odds of Ohtani landing on the Blue Jays are better than LA.
What a way to turn the tables, huh?
The word on Twitter is that Ohtani is more likely to sign with Toronto than with the Dodgers or his former team, the Los Angeles Angels.
Until there is confirmation, however, all we can do is speculate.
He would be joining a quality core ready to compete in Toronto, and that’s what he wanted.
Stay tuned, because this won’t be the last you will hear about Ohtani on Friday.
