This week’s match between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys might be the biggest game of the 2023 NFL season.
It pits two of the NFC’s best teams against each other with very similar records.
The NFC-leading Eagles sit at 10-2, while the Cowboys aren’t far behind at 9-3.
It’s also one of the biggest rivalries in the NFL and a rematch of a tough Week 9 clash in Philadelphia.
The Eagles prevailed in that one, 28-23.
This game has more at stake, though, according to NFL Network’s Rich Eisen.
The winner of this matchup might not only decide who takes the NFC East, but who takes the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoff as well.

The No. 1 seed is a huge advantage to have in the postseason because not only does the team get the only first-round bye of the playoff field, but the team also gets to play at home for the entirety of their playoff run.
So if the Eagles take the game, they’ll move to 11-2 and take a two-game lead over the Cowboys for the division and stay two games ahead of the San Francisco 49ers for the top seed in the NFC.
The Cowboys, meanwhile, would tie the Eagles with a 10-3 record if Dallas wins and would sit either one or two conference wins behind the 49ers depending upon San Francisco’s match with the Seattle Seahawks in Week 14.
Both the Eagles and Cowboys have tough end-of-season slates, so a win here could be the deciding factor for the division and/or the No. 1 seed.
