The Denver Broncos have been one of the biggest surprises of the 2023 NFL season.
They continue to win games despite many around the league doubting their abilities.
One of the biggest reasons for the Broncos’ success is their defense, as Russell Wilson recently highlighted via reporter Zac Stevens.
Russell Wilson after the win yesterday:
“Our defense has been AMAZING the past seven weeks plus. They’ve been unstoppable. They’ve gotten turnovers and made plays.”

Wilson called the Broncos defense “amazing” over “the past seven weeks plus.”
He also called them “unstoppable” regarding their ability to force turnovers.
The Broncos are tied for the league lead in forced turnovers with 24.
If this unit continues to play well, they might be a tough out in the playoffs.
Of course, they still need to get there.
After a slow start, the Broncos have turned things around, now holding a record of 7-6.
The AFC is loaded with talented teams and rosters, with 11 teams having similar, if not better, records.
This will make the Broncos’ road to the postseason difficult, as they’ll have to vault several teams if they want to make it into the postseason.
If they win out, they are a near-lock to make the playoffs, especially given their upcoming opponents.
The Broncos finish the season with games against the Detroit Lions, New England Patriots, Los Angeles Chargers, and Las Vegas Raiders.
While the Lions are the only likely playoff opponent remaining, any matchup with a divisional opponent is brutal.
The Broncos will need to dig deep, relying on their defense to continue playing well.
Wilson also needs to do his part on offense, continuing to put the defense in a place where they can be successful.
