Prior to the Dallas Cowboys’ big NFC East showdown against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night, it was revealed that Micah Parsons was dealing with an illness, and his status for the game was uncertain.
Parsons ended up playing on Sunday, and he was on the field for a significant amount of snaps during the Cowboys’ impressive 33-13 victory over the Eagles.
Following the win, the talented Dallas pass rusher shared how severe the illness that he was dealing with was (via The Athletic’s Jon Machota on Twitter).
“I woke up [Saturday] night with a 103-degree fever. I mean, I took as many drugs and IVs as a man possibly could take to be able to play.”
Cowboys LB/DE Micah Parsons, who played 76% of Dallas’ defensive snaps last night against the Eagles: “I woke up (Saturday) night with a 103-degree fever. I mean, I took as many drugs and IVs as a man possibly could take to be able to play.”

During the win over Philadelphia on Sunday, Parsons finished with two tackles (one for a loss), one sack, and one QB hit, so he was still able to make an impact on the field for the Cowboys despite his illness.
Overall, the Dallas pass rusher is having himself another impressive season with 44 tackles (14 for a loss), 12.5 sacks, 27 QB hits, 34 pressures, and one forced fumble.
With the help of Parsons, the Cowboys now rank fourth in the NFL in points allowed and third in total yards allowed, which pairs nicely with their offense that currently ranks first in the league in points scored per offensive drive.
With seven wins in their last eight games, Parsons and Dallas are arguably the hottest team in the NFL right now.
Can the Cowboys continue their success into the playoffs and earn their first Super Bowl appearance since 1995?
