The New York Giants are rolling right now.
And while it’s obviously too little, too late for this season, that doesn’t mean it’s all lost for the future.
If anything, Tommy DeVito is auditioning to hold onto the starting QB job in the Big Apple, at least until Daniel Jones is ready to get back on the field.
With that in mind, Pro Football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe told Chad Johnson that DeVito is clearly outplaying Jones during the three-game winning streak.
In the latest edition of “Nightcap,” Sharpe stated that DeVito is playing behind the same offensive line and with the same wide receivers, yet he’s finding time to throw and finding ways to get the football to those players, which Jones didn’t do.

Johnson argued that Jones would still be the starter because of all of the money he’s making.
However, Sharpe believes that’s no longer the case in today’s game, as coaches will only play those guys who are actually delivering.
Jones will miss the first half of the upcoming season at the very least, and DeVito is proving that the Giants don’t need to spend big bucks to find a QB1 in the meantime.
And if he keeps playing with this poise and confidence and finds ways to maximize the talent he has around him, it wouldn’t be shocking at all to see Brian Daboll deciding to stick with him as the starter, even when Jones if back to full strength from his season-ending injury.
