The Kansas City Chiefs aren’t a good football team right now, and while that’s not on Patrick Mahomes, he could do more to uplift his group.
At least, that’s how Stephen A. Smith seems to think.
In the latest edition of First Take, the controversial pundit claimed it’s time that Mahomes calls out his wide receivers.

He stated that Mahomes doesn’t need to be rude about it or even throw his teammates under the bus, but he thinks he’s taken way too much criticism because of them, and it’s time he urged them to play better.
Mahomes has been politically correct way too many times about this subject, and while chances are that he’s already called his teammates out behind closed doors, sending a public message could be just what they need to get going, at least, according to Smith.
Smith pointed out that Chief’s receivers have dropped 33 passes this season, which obviously makes it quite tough to win.
To be fair, this is just so unfair to Mahomes, who continues to play at an elite level despite the lack of talent around him.
Then again, that’s just not his leadership style.
Mahomes has always been there for his teammates, and he’s not the kind of player who’s going to voice out concerns in public.
He’s a fierce competitor and we’ve seen his frustration, and he’s most likely ripped his teammates behind closed doors.
That’s the way it should be, and making even more fuzz and drama won’t do much to help their cause.
