The San Francisco 49ers have a special player on their hands with Brock Purdy.
He might not always look the part, but he’s never fazed or bothered by the pressure or the outside criticism.
That’s why some people took offense at Cam Newton’s comments on him being just a game-manager.
That includes Skip Bayless, who went on his defense in the latest edition of “Undisputed.”
Bayless stated that a guy like Newton should’ve known better than that, praising him for all the things he did throughout the course of his career.

More than that, he claimed that Purdy is actually the opposite of a game-manager, stating that he’s always trying new things.
Bayless says that Purdy is a winner and the kind of guy who’s going to take risks and do whatever he feels like doing if he thinks he can pull it off, such as making impressive throws in tight windows.
The jury is still out on Purdy, but it seems like people are getting just too caught up in where he was taken in the NFL Draft and his college pedigree as opposed to what he’s actually done in the National Football League.
The narrative around him would be so different if he had been a first, second, or even a third-round pick.
The fact of the matter is that he’s proven to be a leader, a bona fide winner, and that the Niners did the right thing by trusting him with the reins of their offense.
