The NFL played four international games in two countries this season: Three games in England and one in Germany.
Those games exist to expand the league’s interest across the globe by giving fans all over the world easier access to football.
Now, the NFL will play in a third non-United States country in 2024 and the fourth different country in its history: Brazil.
The league reportedly approved a game in Sao Paulo, Brazil, at Corinthians Arena, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The NFL has approved an international game in Sao Paulo, Brazil at Corinthians Arena for 2024… plus there could be as many as eight international games in 2025. That’s in addition to the #Jaguars game.

This is significant because it would be NFL’s southern-most game in history.
Previously, the NFL held a game in Mexico City, Mexico, in 2022 between the San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals.
Corinthians Arena has been the home to other major sporting events as well, including the 2014 FIFA World Cup, the 2016 Summer Olympics, and the 2019 Copa America.
Sao Paulo is also two hours ahead of the eastern time zone, whereas places like London or Munich are five and six hours ahead, respectively.
So as it stands today, the NFL will play three games in London, one in Munich, and one in Sao Paulo in 2024.
That’s a lot of international NFL games, all of which affect how the schedule-builders will decide who plays who and where this summer.
And while we won’t know who plays in Sao Paulo until the NFL reveals its 2024 schedule, it should be noted that the Miami Dolphins were the only team given the international marketing rights for Brazil, so they’re a good bet to be the first team to play in Sao Paulo.
