The New York Yankees already announced the number that outfielder Juan Soto will be using in the upcoming season.
Just like he did during his stints with the Washington Nationals and the San Diego Padres, Soto will be wearing No. 22.
The number clearly has meaning to him, and he will keep using it.
The Yankees acted quickly to have jerseys with No. 22 available in the Yankee Stadium team store as soon as possible.
Fans who want the jersey can already go to the stadium and purchase it.
“Juan Soto Yankees jerseys are available now in the Yankee Stadium Team Store by Gate 6,” the organization tweeted.

Fellow outfielder Harrison Bader, currently looking for a team in free agency, was the last player to wear No. 22 for the Yankees, in 2022 and 2023.
The number is now Soto’s, and the fans hope they can see him wearing it beyond 2024.
He is entering his final season of salary arbitration, in which he is expected to command around $30 million.
After 2024, he will be free to negotiate with any team, which has been his desire since the beginning.
He could command a hefty contract, in the neighborhood of $450 – $500 million.
Still, the Yankees will be eager to extend him before he reaches that point.
Their chances are low, but not exactly zero and they are likely to give it a try.
For now, fans should enjoy him while he is on the roster.
They can’t wait for next season to begin so they can root for No. 22 from the stands.
