There seems to be a running debate as to whether Brock Purdy, Tua Tagovailoa, Jared Goff, and Dak Prescott are top-level NFL quarterbacks or if they merely keep things stable and benefit from having talented teammates.
Former star quarterback Cam Newton recently said that all four are merely “game managers,” which is a fancy way of saying they simply aren’t that good and they don’t elevate their teams.
While he may be wrong about that assessment, Emmanuel Acho said on FS1’s “Speak” that Newton is entitled to his opinion, especially since he was a successful QB himself.

All four signal-callers Newton mentioned are not only playing well, but their teams are among the league leaders in wins.
Purdy has become the league’s newest Cinderella story after taking over the San Francisco 49ers’ starting QB spot in Week 13 of last season, and he has led them to a 10-3 record, which has included some very impressive wins over some very good teams.
He is leading everyone in passer rating, pass completion percentage, QBR, touchdown percentage, yards per pass attempt, and yards per pass completion, and he’s tied for second in passing touchdowns, as well as third in passing yards.
Prescott has played outstanding ball lately for the Dallas Cowboys, who also hold a 10-3 record and have moved into first place in the NFC East.
Goff has the Detroit Lions at 9-4, while Tagovailoa has helped the Miami Dolphins become one of the league’s most explosive teams on offense.
Only time will tell how good all four really are, especially in the case of Purdy, Tagovailoa, and Prescott.
