The Dallas Cowboys look like legitimate Super Bowl contenders right now.
It’s been years, perhaps decades, since we could say that about them this deep into the season, but not even their biggest detractors can deny it now.
Notably, a lot of that has had to do with their ever-improving defense.
That’s why Sam Monson and Steve Palazzolo of PFF talked about how great of a job Dan Quinn has done in charge of the team’s defense.

They praised him for the solid adjustments he’s made in-game and between games to put his defense in a position to succeed, tweaking the matchups to shut down the opponent’s star players.
The Cowboys were dealt a massive blow when they lost CB Trevon Diggs for the year, but DaRon Bland has done an outstanding job filling in for him, all while Stephon Gilmore continues to turn back the clock and prove that he’s still got plenty left in the tank and is one of the best DBs of his generation.
Of course, they still need to prove themselves against their nemesis, the San Francisco 49ers, and trying to slow down such a juggernaut will be way easier said than done.
But this team continues to find ways to dominate and not only beat their opponents but actually crush them.
It’s been a while, and some skepticism is granted after watching this team crumble under pressure so many times in the past, but this might finally be it for Mike McCarthy and the Cowboys.
