For the first time in a very long time, the New England Patriots are currently one of the worst teams in the entire NFL.
The franchise that has won six Super Bowl rings since 2001 is heading into their Week 15 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs with an abysmal 3-10 record.
On Thursday, Patriots offensive lineman David Andrews attempted to place a positive spin on his team’s 2023 season by mentioning the opportunities they still have to compete during the next few weeks (via Mike Reiss on Twitter).
“Obviously, the season hasn’t gone the way any of us wanted it. We have these four more guaranteed opportunities. I appreciate the way the whole team, the staff, has come to work each day and competed.”

Andrews has been with New England since the 2015 season, and he’s been lucky enough to help the team win a pair of Super Bowl rings, so he knows what the highest level of success looks like in the NFL.
He’s also aware that the Patriots still have four games left on their 2023 schedule, and even though the playoffs are highly unlikely now, the team can still make the most of these next four weeks.
Andrews is smart enough to know that New England likely isn’t going to win all four of their remaining 2023 matchups, but he knows that there are plenty of other ways the team can benefit from the final stretch of the season.
According to some recent rumors, these next four games could even potentially be the final four games with Bill Belichick as the head coach of the Patriots.
Belichick is regarded as one of the best head coaches in the history of professional football, so the current players on New England’s roster possibly have the special opportunity to be a part of his final moments on an NFL sideline.
