Dak Prescott, the star quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, has been the subject of plenty of scrutiny over the last few years, especially because of some very subpar performances he has had in big games.
Early this year, there was even speculation that the Cowboys may eventually give up on him and take a chance on young backup QB Trey Lance, whom they traded for during the preseason.
But Prescott, at least so far, has answered those critics with some brilliant sustained play, and he’s now considered by many to be the favorite to win the regular-season MVP award.
His contract will expire not too long from now, and there has been some speculation about him getting a big extension this offseason.
Per The 33rd Team, he could become the first quarterback in NFL history to make $60 million per season.

On the season, Prescott has completed 69.3 percent of his pass attempts, and he has registered 3,505 passing yards and a league-high 28 passing touchdowns.
He has guided Dallas to a five-game winning streak, and Dallas has scored at least 33 points in each game of that streak, which has allowed them to rank first in the NFL in scoring.
The bone of contention with Prescott is his poor performances in the playoffs, especially against the San Francisco 49ers the last two seasons.
In Week 5 this year, he threw three interceptions in a 42-10 loss to the Niners in what some considered the worst game of his career.
If Prescott leads the Cowboys to a playoff win over San Francisco and their first Super Bowl championship since the 1995 season, he will prove he’s truly deserving of $60 million per year.
