The Washington Commanders are careening toward a bad season in the first year with new owners.
The Commanders are in last place in the NFC East at 4-9 and could be looking at a top-five pick in the 2024 NFL draft.
On top of that, Washington will now face the Los Angeles Rams without one of their best players.
The Commanders ruled out starting running back Brian Robinson Jr. for Week 15 after he suffered a hamstring injury two weeks ago, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Robinson was in the midst of a great second season in the league after the Commanders drafted him in the third round this past year.
He had rushed 160 times for 664 yards and five touchdowns and caught 29 receptions for 326 yards and three touchdowns.
If Robinson can return next week, he’ll have a chance to set some career-high numbers.
With Robinson officially out, the team will turn to backup running backs Antonio Gibson and/or sixth-round rookie Chris Rodriguez.
Gibson is in his fourth season with the Commanders but has seen his carries dwindle over the past two seasons.
He’s rushed just 46 times for 193 yards and no touchdowns this season, though he’s tallied 37 receptions on 44 targets for 322 yards and two touchdowns.
Rodriguez has been used sparingly as well with 31 rushes for 154 yards and one catch for five yards.
If Gibson’s and Rodriguez’s production are any indication of their usage, the duo will likely see different roles in Week 15 with Gibson serving as a pass-catching back and Rodriguez as an in-between-the-tackles rusher for Washington.
The season may be lost, but the Commanders can now get some extra evaluation of their backups.
