The Philadelphia Phillies are one team that has been quiet so far this offseason.
They made one big move by bringing back one of their own.
Bringing back starting pitcher Aaron Nola was something the Phillies wanted to do.
They were able to get that done by giving Nola a seven-year contract worth $172 million.
But, the Phillies feel like they can add more to their starting rotation.
Pitching usually wins in the playoffs and the Phillies want to bolster their rotation.
That is why they are showing significant interest in Yoshinobu Yamamoto.
The Japanese pitching star has everything you look for in an ace.
According to Jon Heyman via FOX Sports: MLB, the Phillies brought in Yamamoto for a visit on Thursday.

Many teams have gotten a crack at Yamamoto, as interest in him is through the roof.
But, it looks like he is going to command a lot of money on the open market.
One team Yamamoto has been linked to is the Los Angeles Dodgers.
After adding Shohei Ohtani and Tyler Glasnow, the Dodgers are far from done.
They seem destined to pay whatever is necessary to get Yamamoto to sign.
Yamamoto is 25 years old and has shown all the stuff that would translate to MLB.
Last season in Japan, Yamamoto pitched to an ERA of 1.16 in 171.0 innings.
We have seen many Japanese players come over to MLB in recent years.
Just about all of them have panned out.
There should be no doubt that Yamamoto will do the same.
Whoever ends up with the hard-throwing righty should be thrilled.
