The San Francisco 49ers entered the 2023 NFL Season with much to prove.
One of their biggest questions was at the quarterback position, as Brock Purdy’s condition was unknown after his shoulder surgery.
While there might have been initial questions about Purdy’s ability to lead the team, he has seemed to answer them.
As a recent tweet from the NFL on CBS points out, Purdy is putting the 49ers in significant positions to win and leading the league in several statistical categories.

Not bad for 2022’s Mr. Irrelevant.
Among several other categories, Purdy leads the league in passer rating, passing touchdowns, and yards per attempt.
This is a sign that he is accurate and mitigates mistakes while leading his team to victory.
Being among the league leaders in a few categories is something that many quarterbacks might strive for.
Purdy is ahead of the pack in so many areas, which has caused him to be in the heat of the NFL’s MVP race.
While there are still three games to go in the regular season, his path to this award is becoming more apparent.
If he finishes the season in a similar position, atop all of these categories, Purdy might be a shoo-in for this award.
While this might be an impressive accolade in Purdy’s second season, the 49ers still have plenty of work to do.
They need to close the season strong, hoping to end the year with the NFC’s best record to secure a first-round bye, trying to finish the job they came so close to doing last year.
