The defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs may be on the verge of winning the AFC West division title and punching their ticket to the NFL playoffs once again, but the 2023 campaign has been anything but easy for Patrick Mahomes and company.
It seems that not reloading at the wide receiver position this season has really started to impact the Chiefs and the team’s ability to be dominant on the offensive side of the football, which they’ve had no problem doing since this team took off with Mahomes under center.
At one point, the Chiefs’ offense seemed to be virtually unstoppable, with arguably the league’s best quarterback, tight end, and wide receiver leading the way for Kansas City offensively.
Even though Travis Kelce is still playing at a high level and Mahomes is still among the league’s elite quarterbacks, the team is sorely lacking at the wide receiver position, and things only got worse to start Week 16.
According to the team’s Twitter account, the Chiefs have placed wide receiver Skyy Moore on the Reserve/Injured list.

Even though Moore isn’t exactly having a stellar season in Kansas City, as he’s caught only 21 passes for 244 yards and a touchdown this season, this does remove another weapon from Mahomes’ arsenal at the worst time possible with the NFL playoffs right around the corner.
Moore joins Mecole Hardman on the IR for the Chiefs, which means the team will have to lean on Rashee Rice, Justin Watson, Kadarius Toney, and Marquez Valdes-Scantling moving forward.
