The Houston Texans have been one of the surprise teams during the 2023 NFL season, but seem to be limping toward the finish line.
The Texans have been hit hard by injuries in recent weeks, with Tank Dell being lost for the remainder of the year after fracturing his fibula.
However, it isn’t just Dell who the offense has missed as C.J. Stroud missed Week 15 against the Tennessee Titans with a concussion.
Stroud originally suffered the injury in the loss against the New York Jets in Week 14 after hitting the back of his head on the field.
It was widely assumed that Stroud would miss the game against the Titans, though there was some hope he’d be able to return in Week 16 against the Cleveland Browns.
Although Stroud’s been progressing through the league’s concussion protocol, it seems he’s poised to miss his second consecutive game via DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN.

This is disappointing news for Stroud and the Houston fans as he must be eagerly waiting to get back on the field and help his team secure a playoff spot.
The rookie quarterback has been historically good throughout the year, though without him the Texans will trot out Case Keenum again.
Keenum was serviceable against Tennessee and he managed to do just enough to get Houston the much-needed win.
Although Keenum is fine for the time being, the Texans are certainly hoping that Stroud gets cleared in time for next week’s tilt against the Titans.
Stroud is the face of the Houston franchise and fans surely can’t wait to see him back in action.
