The New York Jets are no longer in postseason contention, but that doesn’t mean they’re ready to just go through the motions for the end of the season.
If anything, it’s an exciting time to be a Jets fan, as the best is yet to come, even if it’s not this year.
According to Ian Rapoport, the team plans to activate QB Aaron Rodgers off the Injured Reserve (IR) list.

Rapoport adds that Rodgers still isn’t ready to suit up and play, so his targeted return date might not be realistic anymore.
Rodgers also admitted that he might need three or four more weeks to be 100% ready to play, all but ruling himself out for the season.
Then again, we’ve seen him get back to the practice field faster than any player in NFL history before him, so we wouldn’t be so sure about him not playing at all.
Rodgers is looking forward to making history and becoming the very first player to come back from an Achilles tear so quickly, and that could change the entire landscape of sports medicine and rehab, even if he no longer has the chance to lead his team to the postseason.
He still needs to be medically cleared to play, and the team better make sure that he’s not going to aggravate that injury, especially at this point in his career.
But for now, it seems like everything is going as planned, and he should be back on the active roster by tomorrow.
