The Pittsburgh Steelers may have lost three straight games while being in last place in the highly competitive AFC North division standings with a record of 7-7, but Mike Tomlin and company are still in playoff contention and might be able to punch their ticket to the postseason during the final three games of the regular season.
Although the Steelers could still conceivably make it to the NFL playoffs this year, the 2023 campaign has been a disappointment, to say the least, with the team struggling mainly on the offensive side of the football.
As a result of the team’s offensive struggles this season, the Steelers parted ways with offensive coordinator Matt Canada earlier in the year, but that didn’t exactly fix their issues on offense, which means the team will be on the hunt for a massive upgrade for the coaching position during the offseason.
ESPN’s Marcus Spears recently made the suggestion that the Steelers should go after Eric Bieniemy if the Washington Commanders part ways with him after the season.
If Eric Bienemy is out in Washington Because of new HC and He’s not the Guy to get it! The @steelers should be on the phone to acquire him for these young guys they have. If they grow up they are gonna be hell to deal with and I think he would be the OC for the Job. #challenge em

Bieniemy famously helped lead the Kansas City Chiefs to two Super Bowl titles during his time with the storied franchise and got a lot of credit for the success of the team’s high-powered offense led by superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Since Bieniemy’s departure, the Chiefs offense hasn’t been the same, but he wasn’t able to turn things around for the Commanders, who are headed for another disappointing end to a season.
The Steelers will have an attractive opening, and as long as Bieniemy and Tomlin see eye-to-eye, it makes sense that Pittsburgh would be an intriguing destination.
