The Miami Dolphins haven’t been able to beat a projected playoff team during the 2023 NFL season, the largest reason why some fans and analysts are skeptical about their Super Bowl hopes.
The Dolphins have the most explosive offense in the league but still have to prove that they can beat a good football team.
Miami will get a chance to change the narrative for good when the Dallas Cowboys visit for their Christmas Eve showdown for Week 16.
Like the Dolphins, the Cowboys have a couple of questions they need to answer especially after falling back down to earth in Week 15.
Dallas is one of the most well-rounded teams this season, though their defense might be the strength of their roster.
DaRon Bland has been a revelation this season as he owns the NFL record for most pick-6s in a season and Tagovailoa had high praise for him via Jon Machota of The Athletic.
“You just don’t show up on Sundays and poop that out, if you will,” Tagovailoa said. “Having the NFL record in pick-sixes and whatnot, you don’t just show up on Sundays and do that.”
Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa when asked today about Cowboys CB DaRon Bland having a lot of splash plays this year: “You just don’t show up on Sundays and poop that out, if you will. Having the NFL record in pick-sixes and whatnot, you don’t just show up on Sundays and do that.”

It’s an interesting way to give props to a player, but Tagovailoa’s sentiment remains as Bland has been able to stabilize the secondary.
Bland’s playmaking ability is much-needed for Dallas given they lost Trevon Diggs earlier in the season, and he’ll definitely be someone to watch out for whenever Tagovailoa drops back to pass.
If the Dolphins manage to beat the Cowboys, it would go a long way in affirming their status as Super Bowl contenders.
